Coach Greg Domashovetz started fencing in 2004 in Mt Prospect, IL at Illinois Fencers Club. After graduating high school, he attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign to study Mathematics. While at Illinois, Coach Greg fenced on the club team, the Fencing Illini. After graduating in 2008, Greg moved to Chicago and trained at Chicago Lakeshore Fencers Club and later the Fencing Center of Chicago. Greg attended many North American Cups as a competitor.

In 2012, Coach Greg moved to Denver. At that time, he began to referee regional and national events. He was licensed in 2022 as a referee in foil with the International Fencing Federation (FIE), a difficult and prestigious achievement. He also has experience refereeing gold medal bouts of Division 1 foil, multiple selections to NCAA Championships, several seasons of refereeing at European Fencing Confederation events, and FIE Junior World Cups.

Greg started his coaching career at Denver Fencing Center where he gained experience running classes and giving individual lessons. Coach Greg is certified as a Prevot of Foil through the US Fencing Coaches Association. Greg is committed to continuing education through workshops, clinics, and collaboration with other clubs and coaches.

In addition to his work with Roaring Fork Fencers Club, Greg serves on the Executive Committee of the Colorado Division of USA Fencing as Referee Coordinator Vice-Chair. He also serves as a member of USA Fencing’s Coaches Committee.

Coach Greg moved to the valley to start Roaring Fork Fencers Club in 2017 so that he could share his passion for fencing in a place he was passionate about. Greg managed the Club’s transition to a 501c3 nonprofit in 2025 and now serves as Executive Director and Head Coach. Greg likes downhill skiing, ski touring, road cycling, mountain biking, and backpacking.
